July design of the month
Mrs Rayns, Stamford
This is just one of the en-suite bathrooms recently designed for Mrs Rayns on behalf of her 11 year old daughter who loves pink!
Designing a bathroom using a bold colour needs very careful consideration, although a colour may be very much on trend today, it may very quickly become out-of-date tomorrow. I advised keeping the base colour neutral and accessorising with her daughter’s current favourite colour. This way as a new fashionable colour emerges they will be able to change the accessories as they wish and the bathroom will stay very much on trend. Grey is the new magnolia, it goes with anything and that is why it’s now become a great base colour for any room. In this bathroom I have used our own Bespoke Premier fitted furniture. I have used a dark grey acrylic matt finish for the doors and the Nuance Calcatta Marble waterproof panelling in the shower area. I have then matched the work surface and upstand to blend the two areas together. Karndean flooring is the way to go for most people in bathrooms now as it is warm to walk on, non-slip and carries a lifetime warranty. I have used Knight Tile Cumbrian stone for the flooring in this room.
I think you will agree we have created a beautiful trendy new bathroom for a young lady loving pink who may tomorrow be loving purple!
